Title: Executive Director –Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas – (Independent Contractor)
Organization: The Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas (ACET) has provided training to educators who serve students in at-risk situations dating back to 1974. The Association provides quality services that empower educators to effectively meet the challenges of guiding their districts to improve the educational opportunities for all students. The Association focuses on the state and federal legislation that impacts compensatory education. ACET sponsors two conferences per year to meet the needs of the Association’s members.
- Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited university
- Experience working in an educational organization (preferred)
- Possess a work record of demonstrated leadership skills for a minimum of five years
- A strong understanding of budget projections and financial reports
- Computer skills to include webmaster experience
- Experience in event/conference planning (preferred)
Board Support to include setting up meetings, hotel reservations, correspondence, announcements, strategic planning, policies and procedures updates and website support.
Membership Support to include managing membership software, newsletters, website and answering questions regarding the Association.
Conference Support – turnkey conference support to include hotel negotiations, reservations, meeting schedules, speaker contracts and travel, marketing efforts, payments, receipts, vendor set up and conference evaluation.
Financial Support to include budget preparation, credit and debit transactions, banking, taxes and tax related reporting, annual financial reporting and all general daily business operations.
Other items as requested by the Board to further the efforts of the Association.
Location: This is a contracted position not bound by a geographic location. The Association supplies office equipment and supplies, but not a physical office. Preference given to Texas Residents.
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually
