TRTA Members Respond by the Thousands!

So far, over 4,000 emails have been sent to Texas House members thanking them for their efforts to pass a 13th check for retirees.  Not only have 4,000 emails been sent via the TRTA Email Advocacy Campaign, but every Texas State Representative has heard from a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association!

As of 5 PM on Friday, April 17, 2009, the Texas House had just started Article II of the proposed budget. There is a long way to go through this process and TRTA is monitoring the situation very closely. You will be updated as new information is available.

The good news for TRTA members is that there is still plenty of time for you to send an email to your state representative. If you have not had a chance to send an email, or if you would like to send another response to thank these House members for their work on your behalf, just click on the link below to use the TRTA email advocacy service.

Thank you for being so quick to respond! I have already heard very positive feedback from many legislative offices and I know TRTA is making a strong statement and your VOICE IS BEING HEARD.

Again, TRTA is monitoring the House budget session through its entirety. Updates will be posted when they are available. The TRTA email advocacy service is available for your use. Your efforts are making a difference and are appreciated!
