What:
Mansfield Retired School Employees Association is a grassroots, non-profit organization of retired teachers, principals, school bus drivers, and administrative personnel working to support the goals of TRTA and to sponsor projects in MISD. We encourage and provide opportunities for retired school personnel to use their training, experience, abilities, and resources to further the educational, social, civic, and spiritual growth of the community, state, nation, and world.
We provide opportunities for united action in solving problems and meeting the needs of retired school personnel.
Who:
MRSEA membership is open to all TRS retirees and their spouses who receive a TRS annuity. Also, associate membership is open to anyone who is interested in supporting TRS retirees and their interests.
How:
You can become a member by clicking on the Membership link and downloading a form. Our annual dues are $45. ($35 for state TRTA dues & $10 local dues.)
When:
Meetings are the second Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. (September, October, November, December, February, March, April, and May)
Where:
Fall 2020 meetings will be ZOOM meetings. We hope to be back to our regular location in the spring – Dr. Rachel Howell Great Room at the MISD Administration Building.
Projects:
MISD Pre-K book project, Donations to MISD clothes closet, Backpack food items through Common Ground Mansfield, School of the Month gift baskets to MISD schools, High school scholarship.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Mansfield Retired School Employees Association shall be to:
Section 1. Retain the identity of retired teachers and to evaluate the status of retired teachers;
Section 2. Encourage retired teachers to use their training and experience in furthering the educational, social, civic, and spiritual growth of the community, state, nation, and world;
Section 3. Afford opportunities for united action in solving the problems and meeting the needs of retired teachers;
Section 4. Assist TRTA to promote the passage of legislation beneficial to retired teachers; and
Section 5. Cooperate with TRTA and National Retired Teachers Association.
