This year, a truncated convention will occur on March 27 and 28, followed by a Day at the Capitol on March 29 where members will have the opportunity to visit one-on-one with their state Senators and Representatives! (<a href=\"https:\/\/trta.org\/es\/legislation\/legislative-updates\/trta-day-at-the-capitol-announced-march-29-2017\/\">Click here to read all about TRTA Day at the Capitol<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>There is no better time to be in Austin! The Texas Legislature will be in regular session, discussing the TRS\u2013Care health insurance program and ways to protect the longevity of benefits for our public education retirees and pre-retirees.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s theme, \u201cTRTA: Teamwork is Key,\u201d is a perfect sentiment that matches TRTA\u2019s drive to succeed as we navigate another challenging legislative session in the Texas capital city.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration Deadline: March 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The deadline to register for the TRTA Convention will close next Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
