{"id":2671,"date":"2016-12-12T08:50:58","date_gmt":"2016-12-12T14:50:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trta.org\/?p=2671"},"modified":"2016-12-12T08:50:58","modified_gmt":"2016-12-12T14:50:58","slug":"texas-retired-teacher-foundation-nearing-fundraising-goal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trta.org\/es\/texas-retired-teacher-foundation-nearing-fundraising-goal\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas Retired Teacher Foundation Nearing Fundraising Goal!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Texas Retired Teachers Foundation (TRTF), the charitable arm of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA), would like to thank all of our members and friends for their generous donations this holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>As our members may know, November was designated by the TRTA Board of Directors as Foundation Month, a time to increase awareness of our charitable partner organization\u2019s programs, good deeds and plans for the future!<\/p>\n<p><strong>So far, TRTA members, districts and local units have donated nearly $67,000 to the Foundation!<\/strong> TRTF is so very grateful for your consideration, as your donations help educators of the past, present and future.<\/p>\n<p>The funds will help TRTF provide grants to retirees in critical need through \u201cA Helping Hand,\u201d grants to public school teachers for innovative projects and learning platforms right here in Texas, and scholarships to recent college graduates who are about to enter the education field for the very first time.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about these great programs, please <a href=\"mailto:info@trtf.org\">contact us<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cA Helping Hand\u201d (assistance is available for retirees in need by contacting <a href=\"mailto:help@trtf.org\">help@trtf.org<\/a> or 1.800.880.1650)<\/li>\n<li>Classroom Assistance Grants (request applications from <a href=\"mailto:info@trtf.org\">info@trtf.org<\/a>; submission deadline March 16, 2017)<\/li>\n<li>Beginning Teacher Scholarships (request applications from <a href=\"mailto:info@trtf.org\">info@trtf.org<\/a>; submission deadline March 16, 2017)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Be sure to watch this year\u2019s Foundation video series, featuring real recipients of TRTF\u2019s programs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LYjj1Oyw5Bs&amp;list=PLJ5kSsAQ_DjQMH36lx3CZn9H1uSdWitl9\">aqu\u00ed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Donate Today!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please consider helping the Foundation reach its fundraising goal of $100,000 by the end of 2016<strong>.
