Dan Patrick appointed three Senators to the TRS-Care Study Group today:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffman.senate.state.tx.us\/\"><strong>Joan Huffman (R-Houston) <\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.senate.state.tx.us\/75r\/senate\/members\/dist12\/dist12.htm\"><strong>Jane Nelson (R-Flower Mound) <\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.senate.state.tx.us\/75r\/senate\/members\/dist30\/dist30.htm\"><strong>Craig Estes (R-Wichita Falls)<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Without any changes, TRS-Care is slated to be short more than $700 million in FY 2018 and $2.9 billion in FY 2020. The Study Group will be working with TRTA and other stakeholders to develop solutions for this vital health care system that more than 240,000 retired educators rely upon.<\/p>\n<p>Huffman, Nelson and Estes are joining Representatives Dan Flynn (R-Canton), Trent Ashby (R-Lufkin) and Justin Rodriguez (D-San Antonio) on the Study Group.<\/p>\n<p>TRTA is excited to work with the newly named members. We hope to work together to solve this difficult issue.
