Members of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA), it\u2019s time to RALLY THE VOTE<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

As mentioned in an L\u00ednea interior<\/em> last week<\/a>, this is the last opportunity for many of our members, their friends, family members, colleagues, and neighbors to cast a vote and determine who will represent their interests in the Texas Legislature!<\/p>\n

This election is important: most elections in Texas are decided during the primary election cycle<\/strong>.\u00a0Very few voters show up at the polls for Primary Runoff elections, and now is our chance to make a difference!<\/p>\n

Members, TRTA implores you to contact any friends, family, or other members you know who reside in the districts where elections are underway. (See a full list of the districts where runoffs are occurring below).<\/p>\n

With so few people showing up to the polls to vote, an organized effort by TRS retirees will be seen as a huge show of strength!<\/p>\n

We are benefited by working to get as many people to the polls as possible. Let’s show off our ground game\u00a0and push a culture of voting\u00a0with our network in the Primary Runoff Election!<\/p>\n

Early voting continues through this Friday, May 24. Primary Runoff Election Day is May 28. Don\u2019t miss your chance to vote!<\/strong><\/p>\n

About the Races<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Not all Texas State House and Senate Districts will have Primary Runoff Elections, and in those districts, you may find that only one party has a runoff. To determine if there is a runoff in your area,\u00a0you may visit this link<\/a>\u00a0and enter your address.<\/p>\n

Please remember that if you voted in a party primary in March, you can vote only in that same party\u2019s runoff. Voters who didn\u2019t cast a ballot in the primary can vote in either party\u2019s runoff. Visit MyVoterPortal<\/a> to find your polling place.<\/p>\n
