House Pensions Committee to Discuss SB 10, TRS Board to Meet<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This week, the Texas House of Representatives Pensions, Investments, and Financial Services (PIFS) Committee will meet on September 19 at 10:00 a.m. The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) Board of Trustees will meet on September 19 and 20 for their quarterly meeting.

PIFS Hearing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Members of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) may be interested in viewing the PIFS meeting<\/a> online, as the committee is scheduled to discuss the implementation of Senate Bill 10, which passed during the 88th<\/sup> Sesi\u00f3n Legislativa.<\/p>\n

As TRTA members may recall, SB 10 was the legislation that passed which provided for a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) and supplemental payment for several hundred thousand TRS retirees. TRTA Executive Director Tim Lee will provide testimony during the hearing about the impact of SB 10 on retirees across the state.<\/p>\n

\nTRS Board to Meet<\/strong><\/p>\n
