Meet TRTA Member and Biltmore Christmas Trip Winner, Bette Babers!<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) partnered with Association Member Benefits Advisors (AMBA) and Boscov\u2019s Travel to give one lucky TRTA member and one guest a trip to Asheville, North Carolina: A Biltmore Christmas!<\/p>\n

Bette Babers grew up in a small town in northeast Texas called Honey Grove and went to college at what is now Texas A&M Commerce. She spent nine years in the classroom teaching fifth through eighth grade. After she received her master\u2019s degree in library science, she became an elementary school librarian for Granbury ISD, where her husband Ron was also a principal. Bette and Ron now live in Montgomery to be close to family.<\/p>\n

Bette has been an at-large member of TRTA since 2013. She says, \u201cTRTA is so supportive of retired teachers and their needs. Their hard work recently with getting the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) passed impacted so many retirees in such a positive way.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Executive Director Tim Lee called Bette to let her know she won the trip, she didn\u2019t believe it at first! \u201cI was completely flabbergasted and amazed!\u201d<\/p>\n

Bette says, \u201cWinning the trip was so timely and such a blessing as I\u2019ve had a rough recovery due to a broken ankle. Thank you for being so generous with this trip and giving it away and drawing my name! It\u2019s just wonderful and I can\u2019t wait to enjoy it!\u201d<\/p>\n
