Thank you, members of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA), for joining us during Foundation Month, a time to honor the charitable work done by our partner organization, the Texas Retired Teachers Foundation (TRTF).<\/p>\n
Today, we focus on two of TRTF\u2019s longstanding programs, First-Year Teacher Scholarships<\/a> y Classroom Assistance Grants<\/a>.<\/p>\n The First-Year Teacher Scholarship provides funds to assist the recipient in purchasing materials for his or her classroom. TRTF has awarded more than $190,250 in scholarships since 2008.<\/p>\n The Classroom Assistance Grant is awarded to Texas public school teachers who, on a daily basis, demonstrate commitment to public education and Texas children through the creation of programs, events, or other learning platforms. TRTF has awarded more than $208,000 in grants since 2008.<\/p>\n
