Over the last few years, TRS retirees have seen the repeal of the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO), a cost-of-living increase, a 13th<\/sup>\u00a0check, increased state funding for the pension fund, and reduced TRS-Care premiums. The Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) is excited to announce that officials from the Social Security Administration (SSA) will join Executive Director Tim Lee\u2019s live event on April 11 at 2 p.m. Central. The event will be available on YouTube<\/a> y Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Shawn Duhamel, the Chief Executive Officer for Mass Retirees, will be joining the event.<\/p>\n

This will be a very special episode that you will not want to miss. The SSA team will provide an overview of many aspects how the WEP and GPO repeal were implemented, allow our members to get an insider look at how SSA was able to deliver results much faster than originally anticipated, and answer questions retirees have asked about the WEP and GPO repeal.<\/p>\n

If you are now benefiting from the repeal of the WEP and GPO, PLEASE mark your calendar for April 11 at 2 p.m. Central. Let\u2019s have a large audience to express our sincere interest and appreciation to this amazing group of SSA team leaders.
