Through initiatives like this, dedicated educators across Texas are creating classrooms where every student has the tools to thrive.<\/p>\n<p>Jessica Nieves is a Dyslexia Therapist at Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy and a TRTF Classroom Assistance Grant recipient for 2025. She is helping students with dyslexia discover new confidence and creativity by combining technology with the timeless skill of handwriting.<\/p>\n<p>Jessica works with middle and high school students in grades 6\u201312, guiding them as they strengthen literacy and learning skills. With her grant funds, Jessica purchased Logitech Digital Crayons for her students \u2014 tools that bridge the gap between digital learning and fine motor development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach of my students has an iPad provided by the district,\u201d Jessica explains. \u201cBut they currently write by dragging a finger across the screen. That limits their fine motor growth and their ability to take pride in their handwriting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Research has shown that handwriting activates key brain areas associated with learning, memory, and language processing. The physical act of writing strengthens comprehension, creativity, and problem-solving skills, which are all critical for student success.<\/p>\n<p>By introducing Logitech Digital Crayons, Jessica hopes to help her students write more legibly, confidently, and expressively. \u201cAs their handwriting improves, so does their sense of achievement,\u201d she says. \u201cThat confidence carries over into everything they do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TRTF proudly supports innovative educators like Jessica who are committed to helping students reach their full potential.
