Members of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA), Election Day is just one week away! The November 3 General Election is an important opportunity to make your voice heard and help shape the future of Texas.<\/p>\n

As we look ahead to the 90th Texas Legislative Session, which begins in January 2027, the leaders elected this November will help shape the future of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), retirement security, and public education across our state.<\/p>\n

Have you voted yet? Early voting continues through Friday, October 30. If you haven’t cast your ballot, we encourage you to make a plan to vote early or on Election Day. Take time to review your ballot, research the candidates, and encourage friends, family members, and neighbors to participate in the election.<\/p>\n

Show Us Your \u201cI Voted\u201d Sticker!<\/strong><\/h4>\n

TRTA members know that making your voice heard is an important part of protecting the future of Texas public school retirees.<\/p>\n

After you vote, take a photo with your I Voted<\/em> sticker and email it to info@trta.org<\/a><\/strong>. We want to celebrate our members\u2019 participation and encourage fellow retirees to get out and vote!
\nPlease include your name and, if you wish, your TRTA District or Chapter. By sending your photo, you give TRTA permission to consider it for use in our communications and social media.<\/p>\n

You can use the Texas Secretary of State\u2019s My Voter Portal<\/a> to check your voter registration status and find election information.<\/p>\n

County election offices also publish polling locations and voting hours for early voting and Election Day. Find your county\u2019s election office through the Secretary of State\u2019s county election website directory<\/a>.<\/p>\n
