Today’s live discussion will be from Congressman Gooden’s Washington, D.C. office and will focus on the major win for Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) retirees, the passage and signing of H.R. 82, the Social Security Fairness Act!
The discussion will also include how the process for restoring Social Security benefits for those impacted by the now repealed Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO) may move forward.
We know our deserving public education retirees, as well as millions of other public servants, are anxious to receive their earned Social Security benefits as soon as possible! TRTA will be working closely with Congressman Gooden’s office to ensure the most up-to-date information is provided to our members, supporters, and friends.
