Action Alert: Contact Senators Who Haven’t Signed On to WEP/GPO Repeal

The U.S. Senate is set to take a vote this week to repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset. These unfair, arbitrary Social Security provisions have harmed retired retired educators for too long! It’s time to put an end to the WEP and GPO!

The full details of how much each state is harmed by the WEP and GPO is available here.

According to this data, Texans lose a combined $2,585,013,284 per year to the WEP and GPO.

The Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) is calling on its members to use this Action Alert to email their Texas Senators today!

TRTA is still in positive discussions and is hoping to win the support of the Texas Senators.

Additionally, below you will find a list of Senators who haven’t signed on to the WEP/GPO repeal bill. When calling these Senators, please be courteous, time conscious, direct, and ask for their help and their vote. TRTA respects the work they are doing, and we want to secure their support.

In 42 years, we have never been closer to winning than today. Let’s do our part to galvanize our fellow educators, police, firefighters, military, and federal employees who are impacted by these unfair, egregious Social Security provisions.
