The purpose of the Pearland Education Area Retirees group or most commonly known as PEAR is:
1. To be actively interested in all legislation affecting the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
2. To promote good fellowship and friendship among teachers.
3. To further continuous cultural growth among teachers.
4. To aid in community, civic, and educational affairs.
5. To support our local schools, their students, and aid them as needs arise.
5. To cooperate with national, state, ad local organizations to the benefit of all.
