One of the best and most rewarding ways to get involved with the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) is through our 250-plus local unit chapters. Local units offer opportunities for fellowship and fun, and are a community-driven entry into the world of retirement.
TRTA local units host meetings all across the state. These meetings are a great way to reconnect with your friends and coworkers, as well as stay up-to-date on the latest legislative updates!
Many TRTA local units are hosting meetings throughout the month of September, and with more than 250 local units, there is sure to be a meeting in your area.
Additionally, TRTA Executive Director Tim Lee will be attending many local unit meetings this fall to provide an in-depth look at the TRS-Care crisis, inside information about our fight to repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP), and TRTA’s plans for the 85th Texas Legislative Session.
Many local units also invite legislators and legislative candidates to attend. The meetings provide a great outlet to establish and strengthen relationships with Texas legislators. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to meet with a current or future state Senator or Representative and share your story!
