Key Dates for the 2026 Texas March Primary

Last Day to Register to Vote

  • February 2, 2026 — Texas law requires voters to register 30 days before Election Day. This is the final day your registration application can be submitted or postmarked.How do I check if I’m registered to vote?
  • You can check to see if you’re registered and verify your information through the Texas Secretary of State’s website.

First Day to Apply for a Ballot by Mail

  • January 1, 2026 — Eligible voters (including those 65 and older) may begin submitting an Application for Ballot by Mail (ABBM).
  • Feb. 20 is the last day to apply to vote by mail.

Early Voting Period

  • February 17 – February 27 – All registered voters may vote early. See your county’s website for locations.

Primary Election Day

  • March 3, 2026 — The official Election Day for the Texas Primary. Polls will be open statewide.
