As members of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) may know, Hurricane Beryl hit the Texas coast Monday, July 8, causing ongoing power outages and flooding, as well as damage to homes and other personal property.
Members, we are asking for your help! We are activating the Texas Retired Teachers Foundation’s (TRTF) Disaster Relief Fund to provide grants to retirees impacted by this storm.
TRTF is the charitable partner organization of TRTA. The TRTF Disaster Relief Fund needs funds to assist public education retirees impacted by this devastating event.
Will you please consider making a donation? To make a tax-deductible contribution, please visit www.trtf.org and click on the Donate Now button near the top right of the screen.
The more money we raise, the more people we can help. TRTF will be providing as many grants as possible from the fund to help Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) annuitants who are living in areas affected by the storm.
HOW TO REQUEST AID
If you or someone you know has experienced damage due to Hurricane Beryl, please send an email to request an application to help@trtf.org or call 1 (800) 880-1650. Please note that the TRTF Disaster Relief Short-Term application is not posted online.
Thank you for helping TRTF spread awareness of the Disaster Relief Fund and helping us achieve our mission to provide resources for retired TRS annuitants. To learn more about TRTF’s charitable programs, please visit www.trtf.org.
Sincerely,
Bill Barnes, TRTF President
