Members of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA), the day has finally arrived! Today was Election Day for the November 2023 General Election—a significant political victory is now YOURS!
Proposition 9 is the result of more than a year of direct advocacy by our members and supporters. The Texas Legislature set aside $3.3 billion to provide a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for retired Texas education employees. The voters have spoken! Prop 9 has passed!
TRTA appreciates the tremendous effort put forth by our members, their family, friends, neighbors, and members of their communities. We also thank all Texas State Senators and Representatives in the Legislature for their unanimous support of Prop 9 during the regular legislative session and beyond!
