TRTA Day at the Capitol 2023: RSVP Today!

The Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) is excited to announce our Day at the Capitol event on Wednesday, April 12, 2023! Retired public educators in Texas are looking forward to meeting with legislators, advocating for a much-needed cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), and enjoying fellowship during an old-fashioned ice cream social on the East Lawn.

We are asking TRTA members to submit an RSVP for Day at the Capitol. Your RSVP helps TRTA collect an accurate headcount for all our free planned events, such as the April 11 evening celebration and the ice cream social on April 12.

TRTA members will need to log in to their member profile to submit their RSVP. If you have forgotten your username and/or password, please use the “forgot username” and/or “forgot password” links to recover that information or send an email to

When you log in, you will need to click the “register” button.

  • You will also have the option to register someone else (this is a great feature to use if you need to register someone who is not yet a member of TRTA, but who wishes to attend Day at the Capitol with you).
  • Districts and local chapters also have the option to register multiple guests (this is a great option to use if your district or local chapter is chartering a bus for the event and you have had your members sign up for the bus already).

Be sure to select which “programs” you will be attending (the Evening Celebration and Ice Cream Social). These are the free planned events for which TRTA needs an accurate headcount. We want to be sure we are providing enough appetizers and ice cream for all attendees.

When you are done selecting your programs and/or registering other guests, please click the “proceed to checkout” button near the bottom of the screen. There is no fee to attend Day at the Capitol; however, this button must be selected to confirm your registration(s).

As in years past, TRTA encourages members to WEAR RED on April 12! Thank you and we look forward to seeing you all in April.

Please note, additional details about Day at the Capitol can be found on this webpage, including information about hotel accommodations and parking.
