The Texas Retired Teachers Association’s (TRTA) exciting Day at the Capitol event is less than 24 hours away!
More than 1,000 TRTA members are looking forward to April 12 when we gather on the East Lawn to meet with legislators, advocate for a much-needed cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) and enjoy fellowship during an old-fashioned ice cream social!
TRTA IS THE VOICE FOR TEXAS PUBLIC EDUCATION RETIREES, and we want to be seen and heard tomorrow!
Are You Planning to Attend?
- Please post on your social media accounts and tag TRTA! We’re @TRTA on both Facebook and Twitter.
- You can also post on your legislators’ Facebook pages letting them know we want to see them at our ice cream between Noon and 2:00 p.m. on the East Lawn of the Texas Capitol.
Are You Participating Virtually?
- Please, if you are not attending Day at the Capitol, check for an email from TRTA early in the morning of April 12 with ways you can participate!
- We will include an urgent Action Alert, asking you to invite your legislators to our event!
- Add our live streaming events to your schedule for 10 a.m. and Noon. We will be live from our Facebook and YouTube pages. Details to come tomorrow!
Thank You!
Thank you again to everyone who plans to participate in the TRTA Day at the Capitol, whether you are traveling to Austin or participating virtually. Your membership is what makes TRTA the successful organization that it is!
Thank you for your membership to TRTA. We will be at the Capitol every day as session continues, working with your Senator and Representatives to pass much-needed financial relief for our dedicated retired educators. If you are not yet a TRTA member, please join here.
