Bata Boyd, 86 years old, is a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) in District 11. Bata is a former educator, but she is not retired! She is continually thinking of new ways to help others.
One example is the New Teacher Roundup. This event provides supplies, snacks, and other resources for beginning teachers in Palo Pinto county. Bata chairs the committee, organizes the fundraising, and oversees the distribution of the scholarship funds.
Bata also volunteers at her church and holds offices in other organizations such as the Women’s Club and Delta Kappa Gamma. She is an amazing lady full of ideas who puts her ideas into action!
Bata also helps TRTA members who can no longer drive. She motivates her fellow members with her beautiful smile and warm personality. I would challenge anyone to say “no” to Bata Boyd!
