Thank you to every Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) member who took the time to vote and make your voice heard. We also extend our appreciation to all the candidates who invested their time in learning about, working with, and supporting the retirement security of Texas public education employees.
Now, we turn the page from the campaign trail to the work of governance. Our legislative priorities are available here.
The political landscape is changing, and these shifts will require an experienced organization, a clear and focused message, and members who are dedicated, enthusiastic, and engaged.
At TRTA, we are already preparing for the work ahead. We are taking our members’ concerns, priorities, and needs directly to the Texas Capitol as we prepare for the 90th Texas Legislature.
We are ready for this moment, but our strength has always come from our members. With the legislative session just weeks away, we ask you to stand with us, stay engaged, and make your voice part of the conversation. There will be many new legislators, and we plan to meet with them before the legislative session begins and they become overloaded with information. We encourage you to reach out to your elected officials, congratulate them on their success and remind them TRTA wants to work with them.
Together, we will continue working to protect and improve retirement security for Texas public education retirees.
