Many people are adjusting daily routines to work from home to reduce the risk of COVID-19. But with gyms and fitness centers closed for the time being, all of us have to find ways to adapt to work-out from home.

Maintaining an exercise routine right now is essential. Staying physically active is good for our physical health and our mental well-being. In these times, that latter half is especially important. A treadmill or at-home exercise bike are excellent options. This is a great option for those who enjoy group fitness classes.

Speaking of streaming, ask your gym or fitness studio if they’re currently offering private training or group classes online. Platforms like Zoom and Google Hangout allow trainers, as well as pilates and yoga instructors, to provide live on-camera sessions. An added bonus with this option: you can help a local business during this time when their locations are closed for business.

Of course, weights and resistance bands are also excellent options for strength training and toning muscle. Just make sure you use weights that are appropriate for you, and ask someone to spot you when possible. Exercise is meant to make you and keep you healthy!
