Due to continuing complications associated with the weather conditions in the Austin area, the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) is cancelling today’s live update from Executive Director Tim Lee. TRTA will send out another notice should the event be re-scheduled. However, we are asking members to please plan on watching Tim live on Facebook and YouTube next Thursday, February 9.
TRTA still needs help from our members in sharing their stories!
TRTA is asking members to share very specific examples, in 250 words or less, of purchasing trade-offs they have made due to rising inflation. This information will be provided to legislators to help them better understand that retirees need help this session.
If you are comfortable sharing your story with us and with your elected officials, please click here to submit your story!
TRTA hopes to share some of these stories during the Senate Finance Committee meeting that is currently set for Monday, February 6 at 10 a.m. The meeting date and time may change due to weather. Please mark your calendars and plan to watch the broadcast live online using this webpage.
Remember to keep tuning in every Thursday at 4 p.m. as Tim Lee goes live with a variety of guests and topics related to the Texas legislative session.
Thank you for being a member of TRTA and supporting issues that affect retired Texas public school personnel.
