Dick Nance’s Term as a Trustee Ends After Eight Years of Service
The board offered a resolution honoring long-time TRTA member and leader Dick Nance for his service as a TRS Board member. Nance served for as a board member for the last eight years, two years past his term, and is deeply appreciated for his excellent service and representation of TRS retirees during his term.
The election for Mr. Nance position was held two years ago at the end of his term. The three candidates with the highest vote totals have been sent to Governor Greg Abbott and await his appointment.
Executive Note From Tim Lee:
Dick Nance is a remarkable leader and a dear friend.
I have had the privilege of knowing him for many years, and we are all proud of the work he has done and the service he has given to TRS members during his time on the TRS Board of Trustees.
TRS has faced some of its greatest challenges—and celebrated some of its most significant achievements—during Mr. Nance’s tenure. Through both difficult times and major milestones, Dick consistently represented the interests of his fellow TRS retirees and all pre-retirees with integrity and commitment.
We all owe Dick Nance a deep debt of gratitude. He has served Texas, TRS, public education employees, and retirees with selfless dedication and genuine respect for those he represented.
Thank you, Dick and Beverly Nance, for your service.
It has not gone unnoticed, and we are all better because of your leadership and advocacy as the TRS Retiree Representative on the Teacher Retirement System of Texas Board of Trustees.
